So lent
is nearly over and this week during church there was a script that caught me.
After reading certain scripture it made me realise how the devil comes and
tempts us into things we know are wrong. During my time in lent I won’t lie I
have been tempted but there were times were I have given in and ate and there were
times were I kept my faith and didn’t give in.
One of
the key points if you want to defeat the devil is to always bring God into
picture. By doing that you are showing him that no matter or how the
temptations there are your lord has you and will never forsake you. If you ask
for forgiveness it shall be done because God loves us all.
As humans
we tend to want to run our own lives and let God sit in the passenger seat
while you drive the car to your life yet we forget that if you want to succeed
in life let God take control of your life, let God be the driver of your life
for he knows the roads and will light them up before you see any darkness. Your
can have a new life if you give Christ that chance. God is always testing us,
always tell yourself that away with the spirit of fear and doubt.
If you
tell yourself that you wont succeed you have already predicted your tomorrow
and that is how it shall be. tell yourself I SHALL SUCCEED and that will
happen. What you say out of your mouth is what you will be.
Trust in
the lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember
the lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way. Proverbs 3
5-6
"honour
the lord by making him an offering from the best of all your land
procedures."
The lord
corrects those he loves, as parents would correct a child of whom they are
proud of.
Luke chapter 4; Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness
Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit,
left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 where
for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days,
and at the end of them he was hungry.
3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.”
5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. 6 And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendour; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7 If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.]”
9 The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you carefully;
11 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”
to guard you carefully;
11 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”
12 Jesus
answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to
the test.”
13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
